Pupils learn how to play both the lead and rhythm parts as well as make their own arrangements by taking a melody and adding bass and harmony notes; even changing key if necessary.
There is a whole chapter dedicated to Blues (even if you are a classical purist, you have to learn to deal with blue’s long-short rhythms as many of the examination syllabuses include modern/jazz/blues pieces.)
Many of the pieces are Rhona Watt’s own compositions.
